As many of you will know, Revolution Viewing invests in research to understand the impact and influence of rich media solutions on their intended audiences.

It’s vital in helping us, and our university clients, to keep our fingers on the pulse of what prospective students need from rich media solutions such as videos, virtual open days and 360 virtual tours.

Following fantastic engagement with last year’s research – which established the influence of rich media solutions at key points in the student recruitment cycle – we are now ready to release findings from the next phase of our sector-leading research programme.

Creating Desire: authenticity, emotion and engagement

Revolution Viewing partnered with Vincent Consulting and The Student Room to understand what prospective students really want and expect from university video content by getting answers to questions such as:

  • What makes video content authentic and engaging?
  • How important is it for universities’ video content to evoke an emotional reaction?
  • How well are universities currently performing in creating video content that is appealing to prospective students?

To gain this insight, we conducted a qualitative and quantitative study with 300 prospective UK and international undergraduate students. The findings will help universities to better understand the content needs of an increasingly savvy audience, leading to the creation of more impactful content and increased engagement from prospective students.

If you want to be among the first people to hear findings from this ground-breaking study, please register now for a free, sector-exclusive masterclass we are running with Havas People.
