Product Marketing Manager

Job summary

At Revolution Viewing, we empower people to make life-changing decisions – this is our mission.

We do this by producing solutions to help prospective students select their perfect university and home buyers select their perfect home. Our clients are universities and top home builders from across the UK and in our specialist fields we are the leading supplier in both sectors.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to join a growing company which is world-leading in the areas in which we operate. Whilst established in these sectors, our growth over recent years, particularly in higher education, means that we need to invest in our marketing to ensure that we stay at the top of our game and so that we can drive forward our most profitable products.

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented product marketer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our website is always up-to-date and optimised for the best customer journey. They will take the lead on performance and budget reporting, and drive customer marketing initiatives, including community events, newsletters, and new client promotions.

This role also involves executing campaigns across various channels, managing social media, and conducting competitive intelligence to keep us ahead in the EdTech industry. Additionally, the candidate will oversee content marketing, create sales collateral and support feature launches to maximise product adoption. Strong skills in reporting and analysis are essential, as is the ability to manage our brand assets and provide team support as needed.

The perfect candidate will be proactive, with a keen eye for detail, and have a passion for driving marketing success with high levels of energy and enthusiasm.

You will report to Vic (our Chief Commercial Officer) and whilst you will support the home builder side of our business, 90% of your time will be spent working on the higher education side of the company with a specific focus on the marketing and promotion of our sector-leading virtual experience software, Vepple.

Work-life balance manifesto

The feedback we receive from our team suggests that this is an unusual policy for such a business, hence the mention here in the job spec.  This is from Tom, our CEO: “You will get paid for any extra hours that you work or you will be given the time back.”  Quite simply, you will never be asked to work more hours than contracted, without receiving that time back in lieu or being paid overtime.

    Your role

    A Day in the Life

Imagine starting your day with a fresh cup of coffee, ready to dive into a blend of creativity, analysis, and strategic planning. As a Product Marketing Manager, your day is a balanced mix of routine tasks and dynamic challenges that keep things interesting.

Here’s what a typical day might look like:

9:00 AM – Morning Kickoff: You begin your day by checking the performance metrics from the previous day across all channels. Your first task is to ensure that Vepple.com is up-to-date. You review the website, confirming that the latest blog posts, product updates, and customer testimonials are featured prominently. As you navigate through the site, you monitor customer journeys, ensuring they are smooth and intuitive. Any necessary adjustments are noted for later in the day.

9:30 AM – Performance Reporting: Next, you dive into performance reporting. It’s Monday, so you generate the weekly report that tracks the performance of all marketing channels: social media, email campaigns, PPC ads, and more. You analyse key metrics, identify trends, and prepare insights to present to the team later in the week. As you compile the data, you notice a dip in engagement on one of the social channels, so you make a note to investigate and address it in your social media strategy.

11:00 AM – Customer Marketing and Advocacy: After your reporting tasks, you shift focus to customer marketing. With an upcoming community event on the horizon, you spend some time coordinating with event partners, finalising the agenda, and drafting a promotional email to send to registered participants. You also craft the latest edition of the community newsletter, highlighting new feature releases, success stories from recent client wins, and upcoming webinars.

12:30 PM – Lunch Break: You take a break to recharge, maybe catching up on industry news or brainstorming ideas for the afternoon’s projects.

1:00 PM – Campaign Management: In the afternoon, you’re deep into campaign management mode. Today, you’re finalising the details for an upcoming webinar. You coordinate with speakers, create promotional materials, and schedule social media posts. You also review the ad copy for a new CPC campaign, ensuring it aligns with Vepple’s brand voice and objectives. To ensure the campaign’s success, you set up tracking mechanisms to measure its impact and prepare for the post-campaign analysis.

3:00 PM – Competitive Intelligence: With campaigns in motion, you dedicate time to competitive intelligence. You conduct research on other EdTech suppliers, analysing their marketing strategies, product offerings, and potential threats to Vepple. You compile your findings into a report, highlighting areas where Vepple can differentiate itself or capitalise on emerging trends.

4:00 PM – Content and Sales Collateral Creation: The next part of your day is all about content creation. You start by developing a new case study to support the sales team, showcasing how a recent client successfully implemented Vepple to reach their student recruitment goals. You also draft a one-pager on a new feature, ensuring it’s concise, compelling, and ready for the upcoming feature launch.

5:30 PM – Wrap-Up and Team Support: As the day winds down, you review your to-do list, making sure all critical tasks are complete. You touch base with team members who might need support, whether it’s covering for someone on annual leave or offering input on a project. Before logging off, you prepare for tomorrow’s tasks, ensuring you’re ready to hit the ground running in the morning.
